Security & Trust

Trust should come from clear boundaries — not vague security claims.

SenecMe deals with information that can matter during emergencies, incapacity and family handover. This page explains the controls and separation we can actually describe, as well as the things SenecMe does not claim to guarantee.

The architecture

The public website is not your private SenecMe profile.

SenecMe.info and SenecMe.co.za have different jobs and use separate databases. That separation reduces the amount of member information the public marketing site ever needs to handle.

01

SenecMe.info

Public information, articles, campaign attribution, consented website analytics, Email Updates and general enquiries.

02

Signed handoff

When you choose to start registration, the public site creates a short-lived, server-signed acquisition handoff containing only the fields permitted by the receiving application.

03

SenecMe.co.za

The member application owns registration, login, personal information, ICE runtime, documents, FICA, policies, life-readiness data, billing and other private profile information.

Public-site controls

Controls applied to the website you are using now.

Security is a collection of controls rather than one badge. The SenecMe.info application currently applies several layers around browser sessions, forms, Admin access and response headers.

HTTPS and transport protection

Production is intended to run over HTTPS, with HTTP Strict Transport Security enabled by the application in production.

Browser security headers

The public application applies a Content Security Policy, clickjacking protection, MIME-sniffing protection, a strict referrer policy and restrictive browser permission rules.

Protected sessions and forms

Session cookies are configured as secure and HTTP-only, with SameSite protection, and state-changing forms use CSRF tokens.

Admin boundaries

Admin responses are marked no-index and no-store. SenecMe.info administrator passwords use modern password hashing, and sensitive configuration values remain outside the public web root.

ICE

Preparing information is not the same as publishing your whole profile.

The ICE workflow is based on the emergency information a member chooses to make available. SenecMe does not describe the entire private profile as public merely because an ICE QR exists.

The QR also does not guarantee that somebody will scan it, and the scanning device needs connectivity to open the web destination.

Manual Request

Exceptional access is deliberately slow and human-reviewed.

Manual Request is handled on SenecMe.co.za and is not a shortcut around normal account security. The process requires evidence, matching, a protection period, repeated attempts to contact the member, prior-authority checks and administrator review.

Privacy by separation

The public site does not need your private life-file to measure marketing.

Website analytics, Mailchimp signup, general enquiries and the registration-attribution handoff are designed as separate public-site functions. The marketing handoff does not carry normal member medical, FICA, policy, will, document or financial data back into SenecMe.info.

What we do not claim

Security also means being clear about the limits.

No online service can honestly promise that every risk is eliminated. SenecMe therefore avoids claims that would create a false sense of certainty.

  • We do not claim that any online system is impossible to compromise.
  • We do not claim that an emergency responder will definitely notice or scan an ICE QR.
  • We do not claim that the QR works without connectivity on the scanning device.
  • We do not claim that SenecMe replaces legal, medical, financial, insurance or estate professionals.
  • We do not treat a family relationship alone as automatic authority for Manual Request access.
