Manual access request

When normal access is not possible, SenecMe has a deliberately controlled fallback.

A Manual Request is for exceptional circumstances where access to a SenecMe member's portfolio may be needed and the member cannot provide the normal access themselves. It is not instant, it is not automatically approved, and it requires evidence and human review.

DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE MEMBERManual access is deliberately difficult.

Knowing somebody, being related to them or knowing their personal details is not enough on its own. SenecMe requires a review process before access can be recovered.

Use the least invasive route first

Manual Request is the fallback, not the first route.

SenecMe has different ways of making information available. The right route depends on what the member prepared before the situation arose.

1

ICE QR

Use the member's ICE QR for the emergency information they deliberately chose to make available through that emergency route.

2

Normal authorised access

If the member can still assist, use the normal SenecMe login, sharing or account-access process rather than a Manual Request.

What happens after a request is submitted?

Six stages protect the member before access can be recovered.

The process intentionally includes both system controls and human administrator review.

1

Submit personal details, a clear reason and documentary proof

The requester must identify themselves, explain categorically why access is required, and provide documentary proof that can be reviewed and verified.

2

Match the request to the SenecMe member

The system attempts to match the request to a SenecMe user. If automatic matching does not succeed, an administrator can review the request and match it to the appropriate user.

3

Enter the 4–5 working-day protection period

From the point the request is matched, it is locked for approximately four to five working days. This waiting period is there to give the member a meaningful opportunity to respond.

4

Notify the member every day

During the protection period, the matched member receives daily email and SMS notifications. Their SenecMe dashboard also shows a prominent red warning that a Manual Request is pending. The member can decline the request by SMS, email or by logging in.

5

Check the member's prior release authority

After the allotted period, the administrator checks who the member previously authorised for information release. Only those pre-authorised people are eligible to proceed through the Manual Request process.

6

Recover account access only after approval

If the requester is eligible and the Manual Request is approved, the process is limited to account-access recovery. The member's portfolio is not rewritten by the request. The approved person then uses the applicable login, username or password recovery route to gain access.

What if the requester was not authorised?

Being family is not enough on its own.

If the requester is not one of the people the member had approved for information release, the Manual Request is declined.

The appropriate approved person may then be informed that a request was made by somebody who was not authorised. If access is still required, an approved person needs to submit the Manual Request themselves.

Important:

Submitting a Manual Request does not guarantee access. The process exists to protect the member's information when the member may be unable to protect it themselves.

PRE-AUTHORISATION MATTERSThe decision made before the emergency is what guides the later request.

SenecMe does not treat a claim of relationship as a substitute for the member's own prior release choices.

A human-reviewed process

This is not pure IT automation — intentionally.

Manual Requests involve documentary evidence, matching, repeated attempts to contact the member, a waiting period and administrator review. SenecMe does not treat requests for access to another person's portfolio lightly.

The member gets repeated opportunities to decline. The requester must support the reason for the request. The administrator checks the member's prior release authority. An unapproved requester cannot simply inherit somebody else's authority.
working days

The protection period begins after the Manual Request has been matched to the member.

This is a review and notification period, not a promise that access will be approved at the end of it.
Before you submit

Make sure Manual Request is really the route you need.

Have the ICE QR?

If you only need the emergency information the member chose to make available, use their ICE QR rather than starting an account-access request.

Can the member still assist?

If they can still log in, share information or resolve their own access, use the normal SenecMe route instead.

Member cannot assist?

If normal access is genuinely not possible and you are an authorised person, prepare your details, reason and supporting documentary proof.

Where the request is handled

The request itself is submitted on SenecMe.co.za.

This SenecMe.info page explains the process. The actual Manual Request, its evidence and its review belong to the secure SenecMe application at senecme.co.za.

SenecMe.info does not collect your Manual Request evidence through this page.

SenecMe does not take Manual Requests lightly.

The process is deliberately designed to protect the member as far as possible while still providing a controlled recovery route when it is genuinely needed.
